Honouring Freedom Fighter E.S. Reddy of South Africa
E.S. Reddy established and ran the United Nation’s Centre Against Apartheid which played a critical role in catalysing global opinion against the segregationist policies of South. He was
an Indian-born acolyte of Gandhi who spearheaded efforts at the United Nations to end apartheid in South Africa. He died in 2020 in Cambridge, Mass, USA, at the age of 96. His death was announced by President Cyril Ramaphosa of South Africa, who hailed Mr. Reddy’s “commitment to human rights” and his epitomizing “social solidarity.”

You are invited to mark the launch of the Festschrift in Honour of E.S. Reddy to be held at the historic university of Kwazulu-natal (formerly University of Durban-Westville) Gandhi-luthuli Documentation Centre on Saturday 7 May 2022 from 2.00 pm – 4.30 pm (8.30 am Trinidad/New York time).
