Professors with hidden racial and political agendas
Alissa Trotz is an Afro-Guyanese-born Professor of Caribbean Studies at New College and also the Director of Women and Gender Studies at the University of Toronto in Canada. She is also the editor of the “In the Diaspora” column in Stabroek New in Guyana, as well as a policy maker of the Working People’s Alliance (WPA) political party in Guyana.
Kaieteur News columnist, Freddie Kissoon, has chastised her for her dishonesty in a July 14/20 column, “In the diaspora, in Plato’s cave.” Kissoon wrote: “Trotz is an emotional embracer of the WPA … [and she] left out the ugly, nasty, degenerate, destructive role of the …WPA after 2015… [W]hen one adumbrates on Guyana’s ongoing tragedy after 2015, one must zero in on the poisonous insecticide the WPA … threw on the flowers of a budding future [of Guyana].
“First, the WPA, of which Trotz is a policy-maker. The WPA argued that its merger with the PNC in 2011 was to bring about a new political culture and that African-Guyanese were overburdened with the permanent split that the Burnham/Rodney confrontation brought to African-Guyanese. The intention of the merger was that in creating APNU out of the PNC and WPA, a new [African-Guyanese] dispensation was born.
“With the capture of state power, the WPA defected from the Rodneyite agenda and accepted being a Pavlovian supporter of the Burnhamite leader of government, David Granger, and supported the practice of the old political culture of the PNC. Trotz has direct knowledge of this. https://www.kaieteurnewsonline.com/2020/07/14/in-the-diaspora-in-platos-cave/ .”
So, what is this Burnhamite PNC culture? In an article on the Guyana National Assembly’s debate over Dr. Rodney’s death, the Barbados Today, Aug 11//21 stated: The COI [Commission of Inquiry] classified the historian’s [Dr. Walter Rodney’s] death by bombing as an assassination that had the involvement of the late President Forbes Burnham-led PNC Administration at the time. https://barbadostoday.bb/2021/08/11/heated-debate-as-national-assembly-adopts-commissions-report-into-walter-rodneys-death/”
Not only was Burnham implicated in the assassination of Dr. Rodney but the diabolical and dishonourable Prime Minister, Burnham (since 1964) rigged every election for 22 years – and had the British Government accede to May 26, 1966 as Guyana’s Independence date.
Why May 26? It was chosen to annually commemorate the ethnic cleansing of Indians from Wismar-Mackenzie on May 25-26, 1964! It is now an annual date to commemorate black supremacy over Indians in Guyana!
So, it seems that Prof. Alissa Trotz’ political party, the WPA, is in bed with what most Guyanese know, a nefarious Burnhamite PNC, thus creating APNU – A Partnership for National Unity – a name designed to conceal the truth of its origins and misdeeds.
But APNU still carried on with its iniquitous actions, and Prof. Alissa Trotz’ was also strangely silent in her “In the Diapora” space on APNU’s misdeeds from the time it lost the parliamentary No-Confidence-Vote on December 22, 2018, yet refused to hand over power after fifteen (15) months, calling national elections on March 2, 2020. But, as typical of its dishonourable PNC roots, attempted to rig the results by resorting to various ruses for over five (5) months. All this was witnessed and criticized by national, regional international elections monitors. It was only the American sanction which forced their hand to concede the loss.
