Mrs Kamla Persad-Bisessar
The Honourable leader of the Opposition
The unfortunate utterances by the UNC's Marsha L Walker on social media with respect to Hinduism has reached my eyes. Ms Walker has chosen to wear her religious bias as a proud badge as she touts her belief in her religion. However I would like to point out that Ms Walker is the beneficiary of the same Hindu people she will not attend temple with, not even out of mature religious harmony. The fact remains that the base of the UNC is Indian and the large majority being Hindu !
Even as you The leader of the Party was attending a Hindu Service at the Dattatreya Yoga Centre, with world famous Hindu Guru, Swami Ganapati, Ms Walker took to social media to denounce Hinduism.

In a political party noted for its religious and ethnic diversity if nowhere other than at the top this is both sad and sickening. Hindus are often treated with scant respect by many in this country from putting the sacred Ganesh on food boxes to using Hindu Iconology to sell carnival costumes and the list of offenses goes on.
I never thought that we would now experience this disturbing conduct from those who have been chosen to serve this nation in its highest body, The Senate.
While Ms Walker is entitled to her religious bias I think that such hard lines would serve to exclude her from such high and any office that represents the diverse people of Trinidad and Tobago. Simply put she can not be trusted to represent all of the people, where she expresses such clear bias.
I am left asking myself what does Ms Walker bring to the UNC that allows her to put the UNC in such an embrassing position? How many votes in the marginal seats can she muster or can she even fill a Maxi to attend a political meeting? While expanding the UNC is key to its success at the polls, keeping the base is equally if not more important. I humbly suggest that Ms Walker be freed from Party activities to allow her the freedom practice her religion without having to compromise her faith by interacting with Hindus!
Yours Respectfully
